How do I change my student's academic schedule?
Student academic schedules are typically set at the beginning of each academic year, and changes are not encouraged. However, under certain circumstances, schedules can be changed with the consent and agreement of the school administration, parents, educators, and the counseling department. If you believe that an academic schedule change is necessary for your child, contact Mrs. Fuller. for an appointment and more information.
My student would like to take online classes.....
As part of the Michigan Common Core graduation requirements, high school students must have one online class. As student schedules are developed some students find they prefer taking classes in our media center. As a district we support this type of learning but caution parents that this is an exception to the classroom instruction expectation. Our primary focus as educators is to equip our students with the knowledge and skills to ensure success in their post-secondary lives. Although some student schedules may reflect more than one online course, it typically is a result of class availibility or other scheduling conflicts. Underclassman often do not have as many online learning opportunities as our goal is to aid the transition to high school expectations through classroom instruction. However, for students who find themselves needing to re-take a class the media center serves as a great resource for staying on top of Common Core requirements.
