Educational Development Plan (EDP)
An Educational Development Plan (EDP) documents an ongoing process in which a learner identifies both career goals and a plan of action to achieve
them. The purpose of the EDP is to provide every student with a periodically updated and ongoing record of career planning that will guide in taking effective steps to enter a career of choice. Each student develops a first EDP in junior high, stating an initial career goal and desired work and educational experiences. Mrs. Fuller works with students to verify that EDPs reflect an individual career decision-making process based on career exploration, career assessment information, school performance, and expressed interests. The Guidance Office as well as teaching staff also facilitate selection and enrollment into general courses and into specialized education and training related to the career pathway of choice indicated in the EDP. Community colleges provide the opportunity to continue this planning process through EDP development.

What is Career Cruising? We're so glad you asked!
At Martin Junior High and High School, students and educators partner to incorporate career awareness into everyday curriculum. All students have a Career Cruising user name and password to access Career Cruising not only at school, but at home as well. Mrs. Fuller introduces 7th graders to Career Cruising through guidance lessons specifically created for new users. These lessons include an interest and skills inventory as well as an English/Language Arts academic component that supports career awareness. It is our goal that all students in grades 7-12 have opportunities to enhance their Career Cruising portfolio. Can't find your user name and/or password? No problem, Mrs. Fuller has the information in the Guidance Office. Want more information? Please visit:
